Sample Geriatric Nurse Job Posting

Posted on 23rd September 2011 in Geriatrics and Aging | Comments (0)

Geriatric NurseSilvercare Solutions has a full-time job opening immediately available for a nurse practitioner who is certified as an Adult NP, Family NP, Geriatric NP, or Women’s Health NP. In this autonomous patient care position, you would benefit from the strong support of a stable and progressive NP-lead company.

We will train our new nurse practitioner to become an expert Continence Specialist who performs assessments and develops treatment plans for residents in long term care facilities in the Orlando area.

We contract with long term care facilities to perform bedside urological evaluations and treatments. We do not do complex urodynamic studies. We find that a thorough history, examination, a simple cystometrogram, and a bladderscan give us all the diagnostic information needed to successfully improve the majority of patients with incontinence. We are also very good at removing indwelling catheters (and keeping them out) to avoid urosepsis. Our outcomes show that we can decrease UTIs, decrease falls, and decrease skin breakdown along with adequately treating the incontinence with a combination of behavioral and pharmaceutical therapies. It is truly exciting work! There’s nothing better than getting a person out of briefs and into underwear! Not only do our patients become healthier, but their quality of life and self esteem improve dramatically. The residents are suddenly interested in engaging in more activities and interacting with others. They report having a new lease on life!

We are looking for a clinically sharp NP who has strong communication skills and a warm personality. We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package, and the potential for upward mobility within the company.
